Get a Free .COM Domain Name from Blogarish.com
Written by Alex Atti on Monday, September 01, 2008
An important step that any blogger needs to take in order to build a successful blog is to make his work unique and convince his readers that his website is special. This seems quite simple in theory, but, unfortunately, many beginner bloggers choose to skip the most important part of this process: getting their own domain name.
Answer this question: what do you think `would happen if every person in the world was named Jack? Just take a second to imagine how that world would differ from the actual world we live in. This is the same thing with blogs that use a free platform name extension, like ".blogspot.com" or ".wordpress.com", and this is the reason why every blogger that wants to look professional should own a paid domain name.
For certain reasons, there are people for whom getting a registered domain name is impossible. This is why I chose to set up a contest for all the blog visitors that need a domain name.
In order to be eligible for this contest you have to take advantage of the right that is provided by the first amendment. To be more specific, all you have to do to get in this race is to post at least one comment to any of the posts on this blog.
Anyway, as some of you probably know, Blogger doesn't require an email address when a comment is left and that is why some people may want to cheat by taking advantage of this "issue". To make sure no one will steal your prize in case you win, please send an email to blogarish[at]gmail[dot]com, just after posting your first comment. Please make sure you write your commentator name in the "Subject" field and you only send that email once, no matter how many comments you post. (Of course, you can simply skip this step, but if you happen to win, there occurs the risk of someone pretending to be you and get your prize!)
In order to have more chances to get the free .com domain name, you can post more comments. Here is how it works... Imagine there are 100 comments left on this blog. Johnny posts 50 comments, Mary posts 20 comments and the other 30 comments are written by some random commentators. When the contest is over (a contest lasts two weeks), I write Johnny's name on 50 pieces of paper, Mary's name on 20 pieces of paper and the other commentators' names on a piece of paper each. I will then put all the paper pieces in a hat and randomly choose the .com domain name winner. As you probably infer, Johnny has a 50% chance to win, Mary has a 20% chance and the others have a 1% chance each.
This contest starts today, the 1st of September, and the winner will be announced after two weeks, when the contest is over, on the 15th of September.
Good luck and happy commenting!

Thank you for the nice comment, Sayz Lim. I haven't yet joined BlogCatalog, but it's on my "to do" list.
Next time you post a comment and leave a link to your blog, please make sure you write "http://" in front of the name, otherwise the visitors will be driven to an inexistent page.
Cheers!
